As president of Black River Technical College, it is my honor to welcome you. I am excited to be a part of and honored to guide this fine community of educators and learners to even greater academic heights. Like many of you, there are many reasons why I am delighted to call BRTC my new home.
At BRTC, we are indeed fortunate to have a talented faculty who are focused on high quality teaching and learning. Not only will our faculty personally guide you during your classroom progress, they will support you in your endeavor to pursue your academic achievements. It is because of their tremendous work and devotion to their craft that I am pleased to call BRTC my home.
Our staff is especially student-centered and will perform every duty necessary to help you toward your personal success. With almost $12 million dollars in financial aid to administer, BRTC staff work diligently to insure that your college is affordable. In addition, especially during the busy first week, many BRTC personnel work extra hours and stay late to accommodate your hectic schedule. The choice to work beyond the call of duty makes me proud to find a home in BRTC.
Black River Technical College does not stop at helping just our students; we are devoted to improving and engaging our local communities. Whether holding an Easter egg hunt for kids in Paragould or working on grants to improve our local heritage in Pocahontas, we are committed to improving the conditions of where we live. In addition, BRTC has a $180 million economic impact in our four-county service area and performs over $400,000 dollars in workforce training on just the Paragould campus alone. Being a part of this kind of institution makes thankful to have BRTC as my home.
Just as you start your new semester here at BRTC, I am also beginning my journey here at my new home. Together, we will work to improve the BRTC community.
